INTERNSHIPS

In total, I have taken on two Graphic and one Leather design internships, one at the Latvian poet's Imants Ziedonis Fund “Viegli” and the other at the Latvian radio “Pieci.lv”. Both of these interships took place in 2021.

1.Latvian Radio “Pieci.LV”
.

My story with radio “Pieci.LV” is quite long. in 2021, before starting my internship there, I participated in their “Radio DJ school” and was on track to become an official radio DJ. Unfortunately, that never came to be because of Covid and afterwards, when the opportunity sparked again, I was busy with my graphic design jobs and finishing the last two years of my highschool.

In spite of that, I still wanted to do something interesting regarding my position at the radio, thus, I inquired about beeing an intern there. In the summer of the same year, I was succesfully admitted and began
“...working on posters for their audiovisual series “Piecas Kartes” (In Eng. - Five maps”) where the presenters of Pieci.LV follow around a couple of Latvian musicians to their childhood home, to learn about their lives and environment growing up.”

It was a great time learning about them, as I also got to go with them to shoot the episodes on site.

For the design, we chose to highlight the city in question, by tracing its map and adding our stops on the way, so people could visit them easily.

2.Latvian poet's Imants Ziedonis fund “Viegli”

I joined the”Viegli” team in the summer of 2021 and I was tasked to create a brochure depicting their offered services and products.

The design inspiration came from the already existing brand guidelines and from analyzing the offered content. As the brochure was and still is serving them to this day,  it needed to be simple, easy to understand and welcoming.
